I’m Latika Bourke in London, and I’ll be keeping you up to date with all the developments in Russia’s war on Ukraine overnight.

Talks are under way on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border between two delegations, neither of which are represented by their leaders, Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky.

But there is no ceasefire while these discussions take place. Indeed, heavy fighting is ongoing, particularly in the cities of Chernihiv and Kharkiv.

And Putin has not retreated on his nuclear threat, after placing the “deterrent capability” on “high alert”.
