The instructions included how to deal with a dead attendee. The plan told the security guards to never use the word “dead” or “death” over the radio. The staff was told to use the word “smurf” to describe someone who died.

Scott and Live Nation have been hit with over 20 lawsuits since the event. Many fans accuse the defendants of being negligent by failing to hire adequate staff. The Houston police chief claims he had a meeting with Scott before the show where he warned him about the security issues.

The rapper decided to proceed with his show despite the conversation. 8 people died and hundreds more were injured.
