He continued, “Ms. @EricarHill even said I’ve been getting vaccines since I was a little bird. I had no idea!”

Big Bird was initially brought to the Town Hall virtually by Elmo.

Dr. Gupta explained that during the program they would all be learning about the vaccine through the “lens of children, and through their families.”

In addition to taking questions from around the world and from their “friends on Sesame Street.”

The internet was BUZZING with reactions to Big Bird getting the vaccine, and as you can imagine, the reactions were mixed.

Some were for the promotional message while others were absolutely losing their minds!

Twitter has mixed reactions!

One person in support of Big Bird’s decision tweeted, “Big Bird has been helping kids vaccinate since the beginning, I’m sure everyone remembers their lessons from Sesame Street, especially the ones about Kindness and taking care of each other.”

Another tweeted, “If you’re in these replies asking, “Why would a public tv show that focuses on education be trying to educate the public about a matter of public health!?” maybe you should think a little harder!

Then on the other aisle were those outraged by “Sesame Street.”

“Nothing like government propaganda to ruin childhood memories,” one wrote.

This person wrote, “The show is government funded, therefore its messages are from the government. It is feeding us that children are fine to be vaccinated even though less then 700 children have died from the virus. What is the point of them getting vaccinated?”
