Nine’s no-jab ban sees presenter Tredrea walk

Sports presenter Warren Tredrea and Channel Nine Adelaide are no longer working together following the AFL legend’s criticism of the network’s vaccination policy.

In early December, the four-time All-Australian AFL star abruptly took a leave of absence after Nine implemented a mandatory double vaccination for all its employees.

Previously, Tredrea described himself as pro-choice with respect to the Covid vaccine.

The network had previously said they weren’t seeking to replace Tredrea. Nevertheless, Nine News Adelaide is looking for a new presenter after announcing that Tredrea and itself were parting ways over the weekend.

“Nine can confirm Warren Tredrea will not be presenting sport on our Adelaide bulletins into the future. We are disappointed to see Warren leave but we wish him well,” Nine wrote in a statement, as reported by The Advertiser.

Tredrea, who has worked for Nine since 2013, said he “can’t speak” about the separation.

In an interview earlier this year, Tredrea stated that everyone has the right to make their own vaccination choices.

“No I’m not, I’m fully vaccinated … but I’m not Covid vaccinated,” he said on radio in September. “Everyone is entitled to what they want to do because it’s your body.”
