‘Horrible’ to read what’s happening in North Korea

It is “horrible” to read what is happening in North Korea as residents are banned from laughing for 11 days during the commemorations of the 10-year anniversary of the death of Kim Jong-il, says Labor MP Tania Mihailuk.

Kim Jong-il was the father of North Korea’s current leader Kim Jong-un.

“It is extraordinary where you can see a country like North Korea, a dictatorship that will essentially destroy people’s lives over whether they laugh or cry,” Ms Mihailuk told Sky News host Chris Smith.
