Cruise ship smokestack catches fire in Turks & Caicos | Home + Life + Health

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — The smokestack of a Carnival Cruise ship docked within the Turks & Caicos Islands caught fireplace on Thursday and officers allowed friends and crew members to go ashore as heavy smoke billowed into the air.

Carnival mentioned in an announcement that nobody was injured throughout the incident in Grand Turk, though it was not instantly clear what induced the fireplace, which was filmed by passengers.

“All guests and crew are safe,” the corporate mentioned.

The Carnival Freedom had departed Florida on Monday for a five-day cruise.
