Alec Baldwin Fired Prop Gun That Killed Cinematographer In Tragic On-Set Accident


Alec Baldwin was involved in a horrific on-set accident that ended with a cinematographer being shot and killed.

According to reports, earlier today, the incident went down on the Santa Fe, New Mexico set for the 63-year-old actor’s latest film Rust.

The scene being filmed reportedly required Baldwin to fire a gun. The prop was suppose to be filled with blanks. However, it somehow discharged shrapnel or a bullet.

The director was hit in the clavicle and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers are currently investigating the incident and interviewing witnesses who were on set. The case is described as “open and active” but no criminal charges have been filed.

The Sheriff’s office said they responded to a 911 call that came in around 1:50 PM.

Baldwin has yet to release a statement on the matter. A spokesperson for the production company Rust Movie Productions LLC said, “production has been halted for the time being. The safety of our cast and crew remains our top priority,” the statement adds.
